Sharp, a company that I originally knew their product of cell phone only, is now a popular issue on the TV program because of Kuo Tai-Ming, who invest huge of money on this company.
Sharp is a company once called "Father of Liquid Crystal". Although the Japan company such as Sony and Sharp was once the head of the LCD industry, we couldn't help but to admit that the Korean company- Samsung has now become the head of display industry. Take the product of "Blue-Phase LCD" for example, it's our lab's main research now, and it was published by Samsung the first and only time in 2008.
The chemistry of LCD has already been mature enough, so what are our lab really doing now? We are establishing a database for big company like Merck to use it conveniently. There are so many kinds of LC molecules we've designed, and every students were responsible for different structures of target molecules. All we want to do is to design the molecules that have good performance, no matter for the display use or what's more hot now, for the sensor use. We will pay more attention on two sides. One is like what I just said, to establish a database for displays, and the other is to create new molecules or polymer for sensors.
This summer vacation, the seniors who are ready to be the second grade in graduating school are recently facing a big issue, that is, deciding their thesis topic. It kind of devastated them because the teacher rejected their idea of research, instead, gave them a whole new direction of their topic- "sensor", which is a new research topic in our lab. For the positive side, it is challenging; for the negative side, it is difficult to start and achieve, because lots of information needs to be search, and you don't have the seniors telling you about the tips of experiments.( By the way, it is unique in Taiwan to have this kind of bonus- to have someone teaching you how to do the experiments well.) I will face the issue sooner or later, so what I need to do is to read as much as I can, and not worry about the task for now. Watch and learn, learning with boss Kuo about how he think and how he deal with problems.

You'll never know the answer

與好朋友們分道揚鑣的第一個月,來到夢寐以求的研究所。
適應新環境的過程,著實令我既期待又怕受傷害。
以前該做甚麼都清清楚楚,該交報告就交,該準備考試就準備,還有提供範圍(...)。
研究所呢...? 老師不會逼你,學長姐更不會要求你,
But actually you have to explore things by yourself, and, you'll never know the answer, you can guess, though.(Weilbird)
ㄟˊ ?這不挺好的,我一直喜歡沒有壓力的自己安排時間做事情,
然而我發現自己安排時間是件壓力更大的事,
我會想要每件事都涉略,但是卻很容易弄巧成拙,因為不懂得甚麼時候說yes,甚麼時候說no
用電腦的時候,電影也想看、新聞也想看、好文章也想看,當然論文也想看。
但是資訊發達的世代,吸收的取捨是關鍵,
不管是我愛看的影集CSI或是現在常常要搜尋的資料庫SCI,想要真正吸收這些資訊,
我想分享是個不錯的選擇!
將亂瀏覽資訊的時間拿來分享,同時也能訓練對資訊 say yes 和 say no 的判斷力。
我總是很敬佩大老闆將知識分享的功力,
